Observations of an Illustrator...
inspired by the simple things in life such as good food, plants and the places & spaces we call home.
and Midnight Blues...here in the UK we are not really that used to freezing temperatures and lots of snow, so I think we may be forgiven for feeling a little blue lately; as "The Beast from the East" - (Siberian winds and snow) sweeps in and takes us in it's icy grip!
Whilst our fingers may be turning blue from cold, it's the colour Blue which appears on trend throughout 2018.
Inspired by these lovely deep and dark tones, I've created a collection called the Walled Garden which makes use of these rich blues - two co-ordinate samples are included below.
The name of this trend reminds me of a track called - Midnight Blues by Snowy White & The White Flames.
I don't know if you have heard of Snowy White, a British electric guitar player with a wealth of experience; playing with bands such as Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy, as well as having his own successful solo career. The track 'Midnight Blues' a favourite of mine from the album, "No Faith Required", seems quite fitting for the current mood and 2018 blue colour trend, that can now be found on Wallpaper, Textiles and Home Decor... hope you like it.
