Whether myth or legend, the concept of six degrees of separation has long been of interest to me – not only in our connection to each other but to our surroundings and nature too. As Andy Goldsworthy OBE the British sculptor and environmentalist states, " we often forget that we are nature, and nature is not something separate to us"...
After the year we have just experienced the need for connection to each other and nature has never seemed greater. As we enter the year 2021 and another lockdown due to the pandemic, I’m not making New Year’s resolutions as such but I am committing to the concept of Connection…. So this year through my illustration work and beyond I hope to connect or reconnect back to home and consequently nature through Food… so whether it’s eating it, growing it or simply having a go at drawing it... look out for more food inspired illustrations to come.... Whatever connection means to you, whether it’s sitting around a table with sustainable good food and shared experiences with family and friends… or going for long peaceful walks in the forest, I’m hoping that 2021 is the year that we can all begin to reconnect in a positive way with each other and the places and spaces we call Home!
