Silver Birch trees stand majestic in the landscape, at this time of year their branches silhouette against the grey sky, wafting gently in the breeze; the view from my studio window... reminding me of Nature's own Wabi Sabi...A Japanese philosophy and aesthetic that finds beauty, serenity, and value in imperfection, transience, and natural simplicity The peeling bark, the texture and imperfections, lines and colour - Abstract Art in Nature Walking between the tree trunks, mark making tools of various sizes are easy to find scattered on the woodland floor...I'm very grateful for this connection to the landscape outside my door, which provides me with sustainable tools to create unique lines and marks in my work.
